6. Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood – Building Social & Emotional Skills
“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” is one of the most popular Netflix shows for preschoolers and toddlers for early childhood development, and for good reason. It is an animated spin-off of the classic “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” and is designed to build children’s social skills through engaging and relatable stories.
Daniel is the cutest little tiger learning all those valuable life lessons a toddler needs to thrive. From making friends and sharing to handling emotions, this show covers so many toddler topics. We found the Daniel Tiger potty training episode SO helpful when we were potty training our son! Parents love this show as a secret educational weapon for helping kiddos make sense of big feelings and navigate the wild world of playdates.
If you love to read with your little ones, there are a whole bunch of Daniel Tiger books to help teach kids that are a great addition to your toddler’s library!

15. Blue’s Clues – Problem-Solving with Blue
“Blue’s Clues” is a classic for a reason! Join Josh and his animated dog, Blue, as they invite your toddler to play along, solve puzzles, and use their thinking skills to figure things out. I’m old enough to remember when it was Steve, then Joe…but now it’s Josh and he is doing an amazing job as Blue’s bestie!
16. Ask the Magic School Bus – Science with Ms. Frizzle
The Magic School Bus rides again with Ms. Frizzle at the wheel! She takes your little ones on science-themed adventures in her magical school bus. It’s a perfect blend of entertainment and education.
17. Blippi – Fun and Learning with a Real-Life Host
Blippi is not your typical animated show. It’s hosted by a real-life person, Stevin John (in newer episodes played by Clayton Grimm), who takes kids on a journey of exploration and discovery. From visiting farms to exploring construction sites, aquariums, and science centers, Blippi makes learning hands-on and exciting.
Blippi’s mission is to build confidence in preschoolers by inspiring curiosity and learning through play. In 2021 the show added a female character called Meekah who co-hosts with Blippi on this adventurous show.
18. Ask The Storybots – Little Robots Living Inside Computers!
“Ask the StoryBots” on Netflix is like a zany adventure with a gang of inquisitive, colorful little robots. They go on quests to answer kids’ burning questions about the world around them, like ‘Why is the sky blue?’ or ‘How do computers work?’
Storybots is a whirlwind of fun and learning, kind of like a digital field trip for your little ones. So if you’ve got a curious kid, this show is like a treasure trove of answers mixed with giggles. We learned so much from watching Storybots, especially about dinosaurs and the solar system. And I mean we as in our whole family. I never knew the dwarf planets’ names before and now I have them memorized for life. Also, it has the best songs. Lol.
19. Little Baby Bum – Grooving Nursery Rhyme Sing-a-Longs
“Little Baby Bum” on Netflix is like the ultimate nursery rhyme jam session for your toddlers. It’s a colorful and catchy show that’s all about singing and dancing to classic nursery rhymes. Baby Bum is like a musical playdate on your TV…one of the best toddler shows on Netflix to keep kids entertained and learning!
20. Gabby’s Dollhouse – For Kids Who Love Cats & Kitties
I can’t forget about Gabby’s Dollhouse! My kid liked this show so much that he even nicknamed our cat (The Dude), Cakie. This show is like stepping into a whimsical world where anything’s possible. Gabby, with her lively cat friends, takes kids on imaginative adventures, solving problems and having a blast. It’s a colorful, creative playdate on your TV, where your little ones can learn and explore while having a ton of fun.
big adventures await little viewers on netflix
So there you have it—our top picks for the best educational shows for toddlers on Netflix. Whether you’re aiming to boost their vocabulary, explore nature, spark their scientific curiosity, or simply entertain them while you catch a breather, these shows have got you covered.
And while going about your day with one of the theme songs in your head (for me it was the excavator song by Blippi) can be a bit annoying, remember, it’s just a stage of toddlerhood. It won’t last forever!
Add Little Netflix In The Mix for Toddlers & Preschoolers: And Don’t Feel Guilty About It!
Remember, a little screen time can be a good thing when it’s educational and fun. As a busy mom, I know that sometimes it’s very helpful to turn on the “boob tube” for little ones! As long as the content is suitable for your toddler, like these Netflix shows are, you can take a little break and ditch the “mom guilt“ that sometimes sneaks up on us as parents.
It’s all about balance just like most things in a happy, well-rounded life. So grab some goldfish crackers and a sippy cup, snuggle up on the couch, and enjoy these toddler-friendly shows with your little one. Some of them are available on Prime Video and Disney Plus as well. Hey, you might just learn something new yourself! Happy parenting, and happy streaming!
Until next time, K.
