What Does Christmas Smell Like?
Or, more specifically, what does Christmas smell like to you?
Our sense of smell is closely connected to our memory and these scents may bring a sense of comfort and nostalgia. Your favorite Christmas fragrances might remind you of pleasant holidays past, childhood, family, and friends.
Is it that refreshing smell of fresh evergreen clippings like pine, spruce, or balsam fir that remind you of cutting down a fresh Christmas tree?
A Christmas tree essential oil blend can bring you right back to that memory!
Or perhaps it’s yummy and sweet-smelling like Christmas cookies, gingerbread, or Gramma’s freshly baked apple pie. It could be the zing of peppermint is your thing.
Some people are crazy about citrus mixed with cinnamon while others prefer warm vanilla and nutmeg that reminds them of eggnog.
It could even be that warm, woodsy incense smell, reminiscent of Christmas midnight mass. It’s different for everyone.
How Do I Make My House Smell Like Christmas?
There are so many ways to achieve these Christmas scents in your home like candles, wax melts, air fresheners, potpourri on the stove, and actual baking. But we’re going to focus on diffuser blends. You’re sure to find a Christmas smell that suits your taste with these holiday essential oils.
We’ll give you 15 Christmas Oil Blends to try but if you prefer to freestyle it, go for it! Maybe you know what your nose likes best so adjust or adapt any of these recipes as you see fit.
Blend these Christmas essential oils up in your diffuser however you want. If you like a blast of citrus, add more wild orange, a hint of clove to your cinnamon works well too.
Actually, you can experiment with the number of drops you put into your diffuser until you get the perfect Christmas scent for your taste.
