Looking and feeling great at 40 or at any age is so important to your quality of life so let’s talk a little about health and fitness.
Get Physical
Physical activity, whether it be walking, running, hiking, yoga, golfing, swimming….literally, WHATEVER floats your boat is the name of the game! P.S. You don’t have to live at the gym.
Doing an activity you love to do makes it feel less like work and just fun with a bonus side effect of getting physically fit. Getting out in nature and breathing fresh air while you’re at it is even better.
The older we get, the more important is to do some type of physical activity, keep our bones strong, our blood pumping and our muscles toned.
It may not come as easy as it did 20 years ago, but it is entirely possible! Taking vitamins, eating well, increasing daily water intake and simple exercise routines are things we can all do to improve our health.
Love The Skin You’re In
The importance of skincare reveals itself as we age. It becomes increasingly crucial to look after our largest organ, our skin. I have found commercial skincare products that I love as well as DIY face serums with essential oils, as well as DIY beauty masks and scrubs made with all-natural ingredients.
Self-Care and Inner Peace
Once our skin is glowing let’s remember to keep our inner light shining as well… finding joy within. Mind, body, and spirit really do all work together.
A journey of self-discovery can begin with the simplest of steps. Self-reflection, journaling, gratitude, and positive affirmations are all great places to start.
Also learning meditation and practicing grounding can be helpful. The physical and mental elements of yoga work together as an amazing tool to help with stress relief and mindfulness.
Find self-care routines that you love. Grant yourself the time to work on YOU. Because the better you take care of yourself, the better you will be able to care for your family. Feed your soul and strive to be the most genuine version of yourself. Love yourself in all your imperfections because we are all just ‘works in progress’.
