Listen I am all about positive body image, body love, and self-acceptance at every age. But the truth is, time passes, we evolve and change, and so do our bodies.
Sometimes the changes are from having babies, sometimes from metabolic changes, and sometimes because menopause is knocking on our door. And yes, we should all love the skin we’re in because life is a gift and our bodies are amazing, beautiful, and powerful!
But that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with wanting a bathing suit that will flatter your assets and camouflage your mom bod, stretch marks, tummy bulge, Fupa, back fat, apron belly or whatever the heck name these “problem areas” go by.
If something gives you more confidence at the family pool party, why not go for it?
It’s all about what makes you feel good, comfortable, and confident. And if that’s a tummy-control swimsuit, go for it!
Some of us let it all hang out (sometimes) and some of us are simply a little more modest when it comes to our belly fat.
So, I went on a deep dive mission to discover swimwear options to help fight this battle of the bulge and great news! There are a ton of super cute tummy-control swimsuits out there!
And the even greater news is, they are actually super flattering and fashionable!
A vintage-style, the high-waisted bottom is back this swimsuit season and is one of the best ways to hide belly pooch.
Also, bathing suits with ruching, blouson or ruffled tops, and flowy tankinis are all winners. Swimdresses are another excellent option for every body shape. The best thing is… they are cute, sexy, and offer excellent tummy coverage!
Now, some people swear by Miraclesuits and say they have the best tummy control technology out there but there are a lot of other options out there as well! We’ve done the legwork to get the skinny on these amazing swimsuits that really help camouflage the tummy area! Let’s dive in!

I recently ordered a two-piece similar to the one below from Rosewe and I’m very happy with the quality of it! The red color is so pretty and vibrant, it really is a flattering swimsuit!
I think the caged top is cool and unique-looking and naturally I like the high waist that helps hide my “mom pooch’!
The material is supportive yet stretchy, which makes it really comfortable! It also provides full bum coverage (not cheeky at all).
For reference, I am 5′ 7″, 36 D Bust, 30″ waist, 38″ hips, with a moderately athletic build, and currently around 153 lbs, and a size medium fit me perfectly.
I find when ordering online seeing reviews with photos and other women’s measurements is so helpful!
High-Waisted Bottom Swimsuits~Two Piece Bikinis
I am a huge fan of these high-waisted two-piece swimsuits! They come in a seemingly endless variety of prints and patterns and are a fantastic way to hide belly pooch.
They are stunning and bright in color, and come in so many cute designs from flamingos to stars to tropical-looking pineapple bottoms.
High-waisted bottoms with ruching are your BFF when it comes to helping hide belly pooch! They offer great tummy control and coverage, perfect for minimizing the appearance of mom pooch, muffin top, and love handles.

Best Swimsuit For Muffin Tops!
A tight-fitting tankini top is not your friend if you are looking to minimize love handles but these loose ones…ahhh! Amazing-looking and comfy.
I just purchased this loose tankini swimsuit and I am loving it! It has a plain black blouson-style top with wide adjustable straps and leopard print bottoms with ties. It’s the bomb at hiding my post-baby tummy!
Of course, black and other dark colors are amazing for slimming you down. And what can I say…I’m a sucker for leopard print. For fuller bottom coverage, you could pair it with swim shorts of any color.
UPDATE: A note on the Leopard Bottom/Black Top tankini mentioned above… I still love and recommend this suit, it dries quickly, is good quality, super comfy, and washes up well but the black fabric does get a bit hot if you are out in the sun on a very steamy, sunny day.
Because the tankini top is elasticized on the bottom, there is not a lot of airflow underneath. Plus, well…it’s black so it absorbs the heat.
So on ultra-hot days, I like to pair it with a different black bikini top such as the ruffle flounce type. Again…I still completely recommend it…just a bit of a side note about wearing it in full sun/extreme heat.
If you prefer to show a little more skin on top but still dig animal prints, perhaps this cute high-waisted two-piece is more your style!
Blouson-style swimsuit tops offer extra coverage and are amazing at hiding your tummy!
Bikini bottoms with ties on the sides are perfect for adjusting to whatever you are comfortable with and what you find most flattering for your body shape.

I found some adorable plus-size swimwear in my quest to find the perfect tummy-camouflaging bathing suit! In fact, most of the styles below come in regular and plus sizes! I found so many cute ones but of course, you’ll have to peruse them for yourself to find the suit that is undeniably you!
Swimsuits with a ruffled top are so pretty and flattering! The scoop neck on this one draws the eye to the bust while the ruching on the bottom helps to hide the belly pooch. It has a unique galaxy pattern so if you’re a stargazer this might be the swimsuit for you!

I love the flowiness and the sheer skirt on this pretty tankini. You could also wear it with black swim shorts instead of the brief that it comes with.

The paisley pattern on this super cute flattering tankini is pretty groovy. It provides excellent tummy coverage and the soft greens and pinks are so pretty! The bottoms are pantskirt style so very feminine yet still give you modest coverage.

Mixing and matching swimsuit separates is a clever idea! If you have a pair of black bottoms that you love, you can pair them with any top!

Feeling like a pin-up model? These hot swimsuits have a retro look to them and are great for every body shape and size.
They provide modest coverage but still look sexy and flattering.
